The open architecture of the web kameleon system allows for new features and mechanisms, in this way creating a tool that suits user's needs even better. For projects where the standard capabilities of the system are not enough (API modules), the design, development and implementation of individual mechanisms is an option. Elements that can be used to extend system features include:
- extended news module - allows for displaying the time (date + time) when information was published on the site, automatic creation of news archives, attaching images both to the news itself and its abstract.
- Banner system - allows for placing and managing ad banners on any page of the website in predetermined formats. The system makes it possible to set a date for the display of the banner (time frame), its displayability, target location, etc. The administrator can monitor the display statistics and clickability of the banner.
- Questionnaires and surveys - this module enables unaided surveying on the web site. The administrator formulates a question and alternative answers for the Internet users to choose from. The system presents answers on a diagram.
- Newsletter - a system which enables automatic and customised mailing of specific user groups. The website developer, after writing a message, sends it with just one mouseclick to recipients selected from a database.
- Online store/second-hand shopping/auction/directory - solutions for online sales which involve mechanisms designed for the management of user databases, displaying and updating of the product range, order execution and supporting logistical solutions.
- Chat - at the client's wish the web kameleon system can be integrated with a proved Polchat solution.
- Statistics - the web kameleon system supports the creation of a website map, which is then subject to a statistical analysis by the Gemius system.
The functionality of mechanisms described above can be tailored to suit the needs of any individual project. The web kameleon system additionally allows for additional (pre-developed) interactive mechanisms, databases, scripts or forms to be included. Web kameleon can also be integrated with external applications, systems and databases that a company has been using so far.
